The Conversation
High Point
The Conversation is a song about redemption and revival for women escaping bad relationships.
High Point is an American Rock band out of Gainesville, Florida, blending strong songwriting with melodic guitar interplay, rich keyboard textures, and a powerful, groove-driven rhythm section.
The band recently completed recording a six-song EP at Pulp Arts Studios, mixed at Black Bear Studio in Gainesville, with the first two singles, “The Conversation” and “So Lovely,” available now. The full EP is set for release in Summer 2026.
Built for the live setting, High Point delivers dynamic performances that balance structured songs with improvisational energy, creating a sound that connects with both rock audiences and the live music circuit.
The lineup features Andy Robinson (guitar/vocals), Scott Clayton (guitar/vocals), Jake Lawson (bass), and Pete Orenstein (keys/vocals), drawing from a deep pool of seasoned players with roots in the Atlanta and Southeast music scenes. Clayton and Lawson have performed with Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics, while Orenstein has contributed to projects including Bonobos Convergence, Kynda, and Frankly Scarlet.
The rhythm section bridges both studio and live performance. The EP features veteran Nashville drummer Tom Hurst, who has performed with Tracy Lawrence, Sister Hazel, and What It Is, while the live touring lineup includes Darren Stanley (Perpetual Groove, Jimmy Herring, Oz Noy, Col. Bruce Hampton).
The band will begin touring in July 2026, starting in Florida and expanding throughout the Southeastern United States.
