Bio
High Point is an American Rock/Jam Band from Gainesville, Florida, blending skillful guitar work, dynamic improvisation, and emotionally grounded songwriting. Built around a performance-first philosophy, the band delivers a modern take on classic rock traditions while maintaining a strong focus on memorable, well-crafted songs.
High Point recently completed their six-song debut EP, recorded at Pulp Arts Studios and mixed at Black Bear Studio in Gainesville. The project showcases the band’s core strength: thoughtful songwriting paired with energetic musicianship. The first two singles, The Conversation and So Lovely, highlight the group’s ability to balance tight composition with expressive live feel. The full EP is set for release this summer.
The lineup features Scott Clayton (guitar and vocals), Andy Robinson (guitar and vocals), Pete Orenstein (piano, organ, keys, vocals), Jake Lawson (bass guitar), and Tom Hurst (drums and percussion). Anchored by a tight, responsive rhythm section and layered with expressive keys and guitars, the band creates a sound that is both structured and expansive — rooted in strong songcraft while leaving room for the spontaneous moments that define great live bands.
With their debut release complete, High Point is preparing to begin regional touring across the Southeast in July 2026, focused on building a loyal grassroots audience one show at a time..
